| DescriptionAutobar provided the solution to all these problems by introducing automation through barcode scanning handhelds.autobar implemented a bar coding system at both of the MotorCycle production lines, where bar codes are pasted on Engine and Frame assembly lines. These bar codes can be
generated with the help of Bar Code generation software at the IT department or Production Planning (PPC) in Karachi or Sheikhupura.
The bar codes have embedded information of Engine and Frame
numbers. These bar codes will be scanned at any required point of
production and the worker can ascertain the number by viewing it on the
display of Symbol’s Hand Held Terminal with bar code scanner.
These scanned bar codes are saved in the memory of bar code scanner
and will be synchronized to the back-end database with the help of a
docking cradle. Hence the data is effectively managed and controlled
and the traceability of any engine or frame number has become easier. |
