| Descriptionhey required a solution that would speed up the data entry process. Autobar proposed automating their order-taking process with handheld computers. This would mean that the data entry would altogether be done in the field and the orders would simply be imported to their back end system.
Each booker was given a Psion Workabout with a custom made software which enabled them to book orders. When they return back to the office the data is simply imported into their back end system in a matter of seconds, after which the bookers are given the reports for verification. The most time consuming and tiresome process has been chopped down from hours to seconds. This means that the bookers can stay in the field for longer periods and get more orders, thus not only solving their problem but also providing more business opportunities for them. |
